In order to successfully rule millions of people, you have to be criminally inclined, hypocritical and a masterful liar.  There are exceptions, but, this is the general rule.  Part of the game is to convince people to support policies that are bad for them and their children and their pets.

If you can convince middle-class Americans, for example, that ‘trickle-down’ or ‘supply-side’ economics will make good sense for them in the long run, you’re in.
